Lost

“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”

Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Through the mist
Of a million miles
A distance so vast
That heaven seems closer
The ghost of your poetry
Lights my soul and fills my heart
But leaves my arms empty

Unable to hold on

Grasping out with words
And outstretched fingers
To caress your curves
And find grace
In the soft skin of your thighs
My lips
Desperate for the taste of you
My heart
Knowing enough
Will never be

Unwilling to let go

Forget the past with me
No promises of a future
All we have
Is a now
A moment in between
Set apart from time
Where the ticking clock
Can't steal our dream
Where we can
Get lost and find home
Together

    1. Time in general fascinates me. I’ve had moments of passion and moments of terror and they both felt as if they would last forever, but they ended in the blink of an eye. When I was younger, having time was my excuse to delay doing something I wanted, now, not having enough is a reason to limit my dreams. I somehow missed that magical place in between. Simply ran out of time I guess😂. The one commodity we all have a finite supply of, and no accountant to keep us informed of how much we have remaining.

      1. I suppose people make adjustments to dreams for different reasons. Time is definitely one example. But it’s a relative concept.
We all have time and we probably won’t care when we don’t anymore. 🤔
        Way to be morbid EC
