By the sea

“In the book that is my memory. On the first page of the chapter that is the day when I first met you, appears the words, ‘there begins a new life’.”

Dante Alighieri

There by the sea
Where the tear drop waves
Wash over
Her lonely curves
Our jagged edges entwined

A gossamer thread
Stretched a million miles
Hungry mouths
And parted thighs
And starving hearts
Eager… no, desperate…
To be filled

Something new as old as time
A galaxy in the little things

Immense moments
Salty wet
Dripping with meaning
That steals words…
And brings tears
Leaving only
Shared moans and trembling hands
To write our poem
